New Delhi, Feb 14 (PTI) Delhi Lt Governor V K Saxena, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and Transport Minister Kailash Gahlot on Wednesday flagged off 350 electric buses here.
L-G VK Saxena, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, Transport Minister Kailash Gahlot, and Transport Secretary Ashish Kundra flagged off the lot of 500 e-buses at the Indraprastha Depot.
In September 400 e-buses were flagged off. The Delhi government currently operates 3,670 DTC buses and 3,033 under a cluster of bus services. The government, further targets to add 5,000 more buses to the city's fleet.
Officials said that while
the Cabinet approved the proposal last year, the Transport Department has not made any provision in the budget to fund the subsidy, after which the Finance Department has advised it to prepare a scheme.
