BOOK festival bosses have axed a Harry Potter quiz because of author JK Rowling’s stance on trans issues.
Organisers of the Featherston Booktown Kurakatea bash said they acted after talks with the LGBTQ community and literary experts.

Festival chairman Peter Biggs told local media in New Zealand: “The overwhelming response was there was a risk around causing distress to particular members of the community and that was the last thing we wanted.
“We always thought that Booktown should be an inclusive, welcoming place for everyone, so we took the decision not to go with Harry Potter.”

The deal will allow the banking giant to deploy the fintech firm’s payment and spend management platform to its customer base of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).
EedenBull is already partnering with 65 banks in Europe, and is now further expanding its global reach with banks such as National Australia Bank – a former owner of the Clydesdale Bank.
