Wiregrass Georgia Technical College is one of several technical colleges in Georgia that will participate in phase II funded by the Build Back Better Regional Challenge, the Georgia AI Manufacturing (GA-AIM) coalition. This grant will address the ongoing systemic U.S. supply chain challenges through industry-driven workforce training, incubation and innovation, and strategic alignment among coalition members and industry partners.
Coffee Regional Medical Center President and CEO Vicki Lewis announced at a ceremony Thursday that the hospital is committing $300,000 payable over the next four years to the Wiregrass Tech Foundation North. Wiregrass Georgia Technical College is proud to announce two students who medaled at the 57th Annual National SkillsUSA Competition. The National SkillsUSA competition was held in Atlanta. Students from across the nation competed in 103 different trade, technical, and leadership fields. All competitions are designed, run, and judged with the help of industry, trade associations, and labor organizations, and test competencies are set using industry standards.
For the third year, the SkillsUSA chapter at Wiregrass Georgia Technical College was recently named among the top 24 SkillsUSA chapters nationally as a “Model of Excellence” workplace skills. This national program recognizes the exceptional integration and application of personal, workplace, and technical skills in SkillsUSA chapter activities. This is one of the highest awards bestowed on chapters by SkillsUSA, which is among the largest student organizations for career and technical education.
