The show, produced by San Angelo LIVE!, was presented over Facebook Live, YouTube Live and Twitter via Periscope simultaneously from 6 until 10 p.m. Wednesday evening. It was the third in a continuing series of live streams and this one was a gigantic hit. Crowdtangle measures social media engagement across all media companies in the world. Since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, county officials have attempted to educate residents about the 3W s (wear, wait, wash) but after watching the case counts rise, those efforts look to have been partly ignored. On Thursday, Onslow Memorial Hospital announced they had received 975 doses of the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine. Nurses began administering the vaccine to employees on Friday as the county is in desperate need of a game-changer in the fight against the virus. Since Dec. 1, the daily positive case rate has tripled. Officials announced on Dec. 2 there were 173 new positive cases. On Dec. 16, the county announced 566 positive cases. Onslow releases case updates every Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Cases are counted in what is called a rolling 7-day average meaning the number is based on the day before. ....
