PICTURES: Fab Stroud bands in the swinging 60s

Back in the 1960s the Stroud music scene was lively to say the least. As well as appearances from big-name stars like The Beatles, before they were properly famous, there was an array of home grown talent on offer. SNJ reader David Tritton sent in these fabulous photos of some of the Stroud bands which were gigging at the time. Pictured here are: The Sabres, taken in a backroom at the Subscription Rooms. The Ravens at the Trinity Rooms. The Counts at the Church Institute (now St Laurence Hall). He said: I was going through my old negatives during lockdown and I thought that these photos of local pop scene of the sixties may be of interest to your readers.
