This Week: Dexter Cup final and Lady Suffolk, Freehold Raceway, Freehold, N.J., and Graduate Series first leg, The Meadowlands, East Rutherford, N.J. Schedule of events: The Grand Circuit at Freehold on Saturday (May 1) features the $115,583 Dexter Cup final for three-year-old open trotters and two $36,057 divisions in the Lady Suffolk for three-year-old filly trotters. Also on Saturday, The Meadowlands has a pair of $50,000 first leg divisions in the Graduate Series for four-year-old open pacers. Rather than accept a bye and guarantee himself two Dexter Cup final starters, Ake Svanstedt decided to let Incommunicado compete in Saturday s (April 24) Dexter Cup elimination at Freehold Raceway. The gamble paid off, as Incommunicado cruised under the wire 2-3/4 lengths in front and established himself as one of the favourites for next week s Dexter Cup final. When the entry box closed on Wednesday, ten horses were entered for the Dexter Cup. Svanstedt was offered two byes with his pair of Ambassador Hanover and Incommunicado, and while he accepted the bye with the former, he decided to race Incommunicado. The Massachusetts Sire Stakes champion was made the 8/5 second choice in the field of eight.

New Hampton Tribune Home / Obituaries / Lona Marie Milligan (Stolz), 73 Lona Marie Milligan (Stolz), 73 Sat, 02/20/2021 - 10:57am Bob Fenske Lona Marie Milligan (Stolz), 73, of West Des Moines, passed away after a brief fight with cancer on Valentine’s Day evening, Sunday, Feb. 14, 2021 with her loving husband of 49-years by her side. A Celebration of Life will be held at Hamilton’s on Westown Parkway in West Des Moines on Sunday, February 28 th from 1-4 p.m.  The family requests that masks be worn. Loni was born January 21, 1948, in New Hampton, Iowa to Avalt and Janice (Kelly) Stolz; the proud oldest of five children.  Loni graduated from New Hampton High School in 1966, studied at UNI, then headed to Des Moines to pursue her career.  She eventually met Michael Milligan and the two married on Thanksgiving weekend, 1971.  Together with their two children Michael and Shawn they moved around the state in pursuit of Mike’s career in education
