The new board appointments at the Energy Commission (EC), in particular its new chairman Mohammed Rashdan Mohd Yusof, are intended to shake up the regulator’s approach to energy transition because Malaysia needs to catch up with its regional neighbours, according to Natural Resources, Environment and Climate Change Minister Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad. “I want him (Mohammed Rashdan) to shake things up.I need an EC that can function. [There is] a lot of lobbying, but I know it cannot be business as usual. It cannot be more of the same,” Nik Nazmi told The Edge in an interview.

According to data compiled by The Edge, among the top 50 companies by market capitalisation, the heads of 15 firms took a pay cut, 13 saw a bump in their paycheques and only two those of Supermax Corp Bhd and Time dotcom Bhd had no change in pay.
KUALA LUMPUR (Feb 10): Tenaga Nasional Bhd (TNB) announced that its chief executive officer (CEO) Datuk Seri Amir Hamzah Azizan has tendered his resignation from the post, effective Feb 28.
Amir Hamzah s resignation is due to him accepting a new appointment by the Minister of Finance, the group said in a bourse filing today.
The Edge CEO Morning Brief today reported that Amir Hamzah is slated to join the Employees Provident Fund (EPF) as its CEO, quoting sources.
This will mark the second change in leadership at EPF in three years, after incumbent CEO Tunku Alizakri Alias took over from his predecessor Datuk Shahril Ridza Ridzuan in August 2018.
