Summer Reading Program – June 1 through July 10
Get ready for our Summer Reading Program June 1st through July 10th! Last year, we debuted our online version of the Children’s and Young Adult Summer Reading Programs using the Beanstack app. This year, the adults get to join in on the fun. All of our reading programs will have an online version available through the Beanstack App, which allows you to track your reading goals, all from the convenience of your phone. No longer will you have to worry about losing a paper log. Paper logs are, of course, still available for any of our less-technologically inclined. Whichever you prefer, we have worked hard to make sure you have the exact same experience.

Fireside Author Chat – Thursday, May 6 at 7 p.m.
Join us on Zoom for a fireside chat with Alex Kotlowitz, author of An American Summer: Love and Death in Chicago, The Interrupters, and There Are No Children Here. The chat will be moderated by Pulitzer Prize winning, Chicago Tribune columnist Mary Schmich. Alex and Mary will have a 45-minute discussion followed by about fifteen minutes to answer questions. Limited spots are available, so registration is required. Simply call our Reference Desk at 852-4505 or stop by to sign up!

Covid Mitigations and the Kewanee Public Library
With ever-changing mitigations still underway, you may have been wondering what that means for your local library. No matter where we are in the mitigations, the Kewanee Public Library is still operating as before. We are open 9 am to 4 pm Monday through Friday and 9 am to 1 pm on Saturdays. We do ask that you continue to treat us as an “In and Out” Library, staying only as long as necessary and no longer than an hour. Masks continue to be required and must be worn covering your nose and mouth.
