WATCHUNG, NJ - Lindsay Goodloe will not seek re-election to the Watchung Borough Council come November, she said at the last meeting of the Borough Council meeting on Thursday.
Goodloe was elected to the council of the Borough of Watchung in 2018 and sworn in with newly elected Mayor Keith Balla, and councilperson Daryl Eisenberg-Knegten, the first time in a very long time, three Democrats sat on the dais.
“It has really been an honor to serve this Borough for the last two years, and I will continue to work hard for the remaining 10 months and beyond for the residents of this town and I look forward to seeing everyone when we can gather again at walks around the lake, at Mobus, and at the Harvest Festival,” Goodloe said.
WATCHUNG - The Watchung Inclusion, Diversity, Equality and Respect Committee (WIDER) has offered recommendations to the Borough Council on how to promote those values in Watchung.
Council President Wendy Robinson shared the recommendations with the Borough Council at a virtual meeting on Thursday, Dec. 17. Robinson, who noted the work of the committee is ongoing, said the recommendations are based off feedback gathered at several public listening sessions.
She thanked all those who participated in the sessions.
âYour input was important,â she said. âFrom that, we canât say that discrimination is rampant in Watchung and weâre probably not very different from other towns. Our residents have differences in perception, some of which is generational, and we will do our best to raise awareness. But clearly our residents are concerned about diversity.â
