At Tuesday’s meeting of the Walworth County Commission, incoming Commissioner and former Sheriff Duane Mohr used the public forum time to acknowledge Sheriff Josh Boll’s recent swearing in by Chief Justice Gilbertson as the new President of the South Dakota Sheriff’s Association.
The commissioners voted 3 to 2 to revise the county employee handbook for travel compensation, which will now read “Travel expenses and per diem rates will only be reimbursed when it requires an overnight stay.”  Commissioner Jim Houck, who voted against the motion, said this revision is directed at the Sheriff’s transport officers. ....
