This is a relatively daring move for a game and an app that’s kept the same skeleton pack of cards since inception. With this next rotation, Hearthstone will introduce a brand new “Core Set.” Before we flip our collective lids, it’s important to note that The Core Set will be “free for all players.” This Core Set will completely replace both Basic and Classic sets in Standard play. Hearthstone’s first ever mini-set The Darkmoon Races drops tomorrow Hearthstone is getting an all-new type of expansion tomorrow – a teeny weeny one called a “mini-set”, which drops some new bits and pieces into the card game’s previous Madness at the Darkmoon Faire expansion. Called the Darkmoon Races mini-set, the new Hearthstone content drop brings a bunch of cards of the legendary, rare, common, and epic varieties. The breakdown of new goodies in Hearthstone’s first ever mini-set is as follows: “four legendary cards, one epic card (x2), 14 rare cards (x2), and 16 common cards (x2)”, all of which can be obtained via Madness at the Darkmoon Faire card packs, as Blizzard explains. Additionally, for the first time since the dawn of Hearthstone, the whole 66-card set will be available to buy from either the in-game shop or web store. It’ll set you back $14.99 or 2000 gold, mind, but you can always try to catch ’em all through playing the game inste ....
A message from Blizzard explains: “Strap yourself in and mount up at the starting line for the most perilous and high-octane competition in all of Azeroth: The Darkmoon Races! “Doesn’t matter if it rockets, rides, gallops, or glides it’s all fair game at the Faire once the starting wand is waved. The only rule is getting to the finish line in one piece! “The Darkmoon Races Mini-Set includes 4 Legendary minions, 3 of which are Legendary racers that each hearken back to an expansion in the Year of the Phoenix! “Card mechanics from throughout the year are making a return! That means you can expect creeping Corruption, Dormant dangers, Spellburst racers, and more Dual-Class flavours. ....
Hearthstone Darkmoon Races Mini-Expansion Launching This Week Blizzard took the wraps off Hearthstone s Darkmoon Faire mini-expansion, and it s closer than you might think. When Blizzard outlined its Hearthstone Madness at the Darkmoon Fair expansion, the studio mentioned that it plans to release mini-expansions regularly. It has now unveiled the first of these planned expansions, and it s already right around the corner. The mini-expansion is called The Darkmoon Races, and it will introduce 35 new cards when it launches on January 21. As this is considered part of the Darkmoon Faire expansion, you ll have a chance of opening up the new cards with any regular Darkmoon Faire packs you open. But if you want to bypass all that, you can purchase the full mini-expansion set for $15 or 2,000 gold. ....
