Danbury Mayorial Candidate Keeping Politics In The Family

Danbury Mayorial Candidate Keeping Politics in the Family His grandfather was the longest serving member on the Danbury Town Council, now John Esposito III has announced his candidacy for Mayor of the City of Danbury. Having a history of politics in the family has inspired a third democratic candidate to throw his hat in the ring for the office of Danbury Mayor. John Esposito III was definitely inspired by his grandfather, John Esposito Sr. and told newstimes.com how his relationship with him helped shape his recent decision to run for the office of Mayor. I got my desire to serve the city from him. It was a desire that many in my family share. There are a lot of Espositos in public service. It really is a labor of love in my family.

Danbury Mayor Joe Cavo Defends 'Maybrook Line' Train Proposal

Danbury Mayor Joe Cavo Defends Maybrook Line Train Proposal An editorial piece was published in the CT Mirror on Tuesday (2/23/21) titled The Maybrook Rail Line Study is a Waste of $1 million. In it, author Jim Cameron makes a case that the Mayrbook proposal will not save commuters the time proponents say it will. The Maybrook Line connecting Danbury, CT and Brewster, NY used to be for cargo only. The proposed plan would see the cargo trains converted into passenger trains. Passengers in Danbury would now connect to the Metro-North station in Brewster, switch trains and take the Harlem Line into the city instead of taking the train from Danbury, to Norwalk, onto the mainline there and into the city.

There s always a lot of things happening in the City of Danbury and every week the Mayor fills us in on what s going on. This week, Mayor Joe Cavo talks about the latest on the COVID-19 vaccine, in person learning returning to Danbury Schools, Catalytic Converter thefts, and we continue to petition for a statue in his honor. Get our free mobile app We got another phase of the COVID-19 vaccine starting up this week so there looks like a light at the end of the tunnel. That s right, the state opened up the vaccines to those 55 and older, school teachers, and day care workers and I m excited about that. You know we tried to get teachers and day care workers moved to the front of the list back in December when I first took over as Mayor with no success, but now here we are in the beginning of March and finally teachers and day care workers will be able to be inoculated.
