No one likes paying taxes, but the City s business taxes aren t causing potential companies to go elsewhere, says the head of Venture Kamloops. It definitely is a factor. I wouldn t say it s one of the major factors that s involved, Dan Sulz said Wednesday. It s a question that always comes up. It s not a major determining factor. The big question is, you have to look at what you re getting for those taxes. Kamloops has a pretty strong infrastructure and quality of life.
Sulz was discussing a report by the Canadian Federation of Independent Business that rated Kamloops as 44th in B.C. in terms of the ratio between residential and business taxation.
