The contributors to this collection use ethnographic research in disputed and exceptional places to study sovereignty claims from the ground up. While it might immediately seem that citizens desire a stronger state, the cases of compromised, contested, or failed sovereignty in this volume point instead to political imaginations beyond the state form. RSU looks forward to a scientific Spring

(Latvian Public Broadcasting) In spring 2021, Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) will host what it is calling the biggest science event in Latvia – Research Week 2021 (RW2021).   Five international conferences in health care and social sciences will take place during the week. RW2021 will be held in English and it is scheduled to take place online from 22 to 27 March. RSU invites lecturers and researchers who are actively involved in research, as well as local and international students and other interested parties to participate in the event. RSU held the first Research Week in 2019, which was attended by 6,000 participants from 28 countries – the biggest number of participants in the history of the university.
