towards the north of scotland. still largely dry towards the east of the pennines, but heavy rain for cumbria and lancashire. a wet start for northern ireland as well. outbreaks of rain coming into wales, always wetter in the west of wales, and we have got this rain across southern england just beginning to arrive in the london area. much of eastern england starting dry, perhaps some hazy sunshine, but it will be thickening and we will see some outbreaks of rain pushing into eastern areas as well. the wettest weather will always be over the hills in the west, the south west of scotland, north west england and west wales. not much rain arriving in the south east and the rain easing off during the afternoon. we may get some brightness, a bit of sunshine to the east on high ground, but even with the cloud it is going to be quite a warm day with temperatures at 16 or 17. the first dose of rain comes on that whether there and we get another pulse of heavy rain returning overnight
