Dr. Akram Boutros will retire as president and CEO of MetroHealth at the end of 2022 after leading the public health system since 2013, he announced on Monday, Nov. 29.
Boutros has led the system since 2013. In that time, MetroHealth has opened two hospitals, three emergency departments, 10 community health centers, nine pharmacies, and sent health care providers into more than a dozen local schools. The board of trustees is issuing a request for proposal to retain an executive search firm that will help conduct a nationwide search.
