The power to help you succeed. we are back on american morning. are you the man or woman who can drink everybody else under the table? the high tolerance to alcohol maybe a sign you lack the genetics to fight potential addiction. doctors say they have discovered a gene that may protect you against alcoholism. joining us now is dr. curt williamson from the university of north carolina. doctor, great to see you. what does this gene do? this gene actually metabolizes or breaks down many molecules including alcohol and expressed throughout the body including the brain. how many people carry it? what s the affect on the average person? well, everyone has a copy of the gene pretty much. there s a few people that have actually lost the gene or have
time and saying i m gay, i d like to enlist. what happened? well, basically what happened was, the appeals court granted a temporary stay to that judge s order. and the key word there is temporary. because the group that brought this case, the log cabin republicans and lawyers on that side, they re going to keep pushing and pushing the court to reject that stay. so, you know, this isn t the end. this is really just the middle of this argument. and what it does, it has now created sort of a see saw effect, where you have a policy in place one week. that policy is different the next week and different again the week after. it is confusion. and again, you re talking about recruit here s were just told to process these applications for gay applicants. now, they re going to have to be told, stop and don t do that. the pentagon s response to this officially very simple. very straightforward, for the reasons stated in a government submission, we believe the stay is appropriate.
