The state’s Conservative Party wants Lt. Gov. Kathy Hochul to be included in all important state policy discussions in case Gov. Andrew Cuomo is impeached or resigns not that Cuomo plans on going anywhere anytime soon.
In a news release Friday, Gerard Kassar, party chairman, said Hochul should be more fully integrated in policy discussions so there can be better continuity if Cuomo’s term ends abruptly. Kassar’s comments were based on a review of Hochul’s recent schedule. Thursday, for example, had Hochul delivering remarks at a conference, discussing environmentally friendly infrastructure at an awards ceremony being held online, delivering a budget presentation, speaking to the Southern Tier chapter of the New York State United Teachers Women and then remarks during the United Federation of Teachers virtual legislative reception.
