The incident began at 2:30 p.m. Dec. 10 when officers from the Ferndale Police Department went to a home in Royal Oak in the 3300 block of Cummings Avenue to interview the man because he was a suspect in a criminal sexual conduct case. Ferndale Police Community Engagement Officer Jill Mahlmeister stated that officers were unable to contact the man when they arrived at the home.

The city’s online auction for 50 city-owned properties Wednesday led to bids for 49 of them for $4.15 million. Last fall, the city auctioned off 76 properties for $2.92 million. “This shows clearly that there is still interest in investing in the City of Trenton,” Gusciora said. Most of the 49 properties are residential and require the bidder to commit to living at the property for five years, Gusciora said a statement. “Successful auctions are key to our redevelopment efforts, especially when they get promising properties into the hands of tax-paying residents who can renovate them for the benefit of the surrounding community,” Gusciora said. “And with the residency requirement for many of these properties, we know they will be cared for by Trentonians who are proud
