Apr 23, 2021 Kent G. “Stick” Stickler, 85, of Spring Mills, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 21, 2021, at home. Born on Sept. 13, 1935, in Bellefonte, he was the son of Malcolm “Max” and Mamie (Griffith) Stickler. On Aug. 5, 1962, in Port Matilda, he married Sonja A. Biddle, who survives at home. Stick was a 1953 graduate of Bellefonte Area High School. After 42 years of service, he retired from the Pennsylvania Fish Commission as a fishery technician. During his employment, he stocked fish, painted signs, and then worked in the engineering department. Stick was a member of the American Legion Smith-Pletcher Post 779 in Centre Hall and the VFW Post 9575. He was an WWII enthusiast, loved airplanes, and enjoyed nice cars. He always had a project to do around the house and enjoyed tinkering around the property. He liked to fish and loved his four-legged companions, both canine and feline. Those that knew him would say he was a cantankerous man.
