Huge disappointment for nasa and for you, too. why wasn t it discovered ahead of this week s launch? the hydrogen leak only appears when they strap it to the belly of the orbiter discovery. only in the last eight hours of the countdown they fill it up with a cryogenic proopponent that the leak might occur. it happened in the summer of 2009 on two separate shuttle countdowns, the engineers redesigned the valve seal and thought they had a slick. it occurred again. it was a big leak they think there is something obviously flawed with the assembly. maybe simple mechanical fix once they take it apart and get a look at the inside. uma: why are they waiting to the end of the month to launch discovery? the problem is thism coming monday it was last time they could launch. after that, the angle of the sun, shining on the dock space shuttle would heat up that combination, the machines would get overheated. it s called a beta-angle ....
