Grand Rapids Police say the victim of a July shooting has died, marking the 36th homicide of the year.
Nineteen-year-old Julian Tovar was shot on his way home from work on July 22. The incident happened on Crofton Street SW near Roy Avenue. He was rushed to the hospital in critical condition, never regained consciousness and died on Wednesday.

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. â A 19-year-old shot while on his way home from work in Grand Rapids over the summer has succumbed to his injuries, GRPD said Thursday.
Julian Omar Tovar of Grand Rapids was shot July 22 near Crofton Street SW and Roy Avenue SW.
He never regained consciousness and had been hospitalized since the shooting.

Grand Rapids police say a 19-year-old man who was shot while walking home from work has died.
Julian Omar Tovar was shot in the area of Crofton Street SW and Roy Ave. SW on July 22nd. He never regained consciousness and was hospitalized until he died on Dec. 16th.
