Tigers Triumph in Day One at Duel in the Desert

CLEMSON, S.C. – The Tigers embarked on their first day at the Duel in the Desert in Indian Wells. Multiple athletes had great days, defeating two Kansas Jayhawks doubles teams and 4 single players. Today was a fantastic start for our team,” head coach Boomer Saia said. “We came out, set the tone in doubles, and parlayed that into our singles play. I was incredibly proud of the team committing to what we have been talking about as a team. Specifically, our team goals are controlling the controllable, being gritty, and having great energy. We did all of those things well today in each spot. Season Debut at the Duel in the Desert

CLEMSON, S.C. – The Tigers are bound for California as they embark on their Spring season tournament opener at the Duel in the Desert in Indian Wells. The tournament begins on Jan. 11 and runs through Saturday, Jan. 13, at the Indian Wells Tennis Garden. The tournament will feature matchups between Iowa State, Arkansas, and Kansas.    The tournament format will be a hidden dual, and the schedule will be as follows: Thursday, Jan. 11 12 p.m. – Kansas vs. Clemson  12 p.m. – Iowa State vs. Arkansas Friday, Jan. 12 12 p.m. – Kansas vs. Iowa State 12 p.m. – Clemson vs. Arkansas Saturday, Jan. 13 12 p.m. – Kansas vs. Arkansas 12 p.m. – Clemson vs. Iowa State “Starting off with the Duel in the Desert tournament will allow us to compete right away against some really good competition,” head coach Boomer Saia says. “We are looking to take steps with our games each day to adequately prepare us for our home openers next weekend.” This tournament will serve as a season deb

Spring 2024 Season Preview

The Clemson women's tennis team opens up the spring 2024 inaugural season in Indian Wells, Calif., as they face off in the Dual in the Desert, a hidden duals tournament. The season will feature non-conference competition against ETSU, Georgia State, Western Carolina, Iowa, Alabama, Charlotte, Georgia Southern, College of Charleston, South Carolina, Coastal Carolina, Mercer, and Charleston Southern.  Conference play for the Tigers will begin when the team faces Syracuse on the road. There will be several opportunities for fans to support the Tigers at home as the team hosts two home doubleheaders and notable matchups against Virginia, Louisville, Notre Dame, Wake Forest, and NC State. The 2023 ACC Championship Tournament will occur from April 17-21 in Cary, N.C.
