The 'Rajyotsava' award given to MK Ashok by the Mysuru district administration has been withdrawn after it was discovered that he had criminal antecedents. The award was given to him for the social work he undertook under a trust run by him. The withdrawal of the award has caused embarrassment to the district administration.
