DDRB approves conceptual design for Central Fire Station | Jax Daily Record | Jacksonville Daily Record

The Downtown Development Review Board voted 8-0 Dec. 10 to grant conceptual approval for the proposed adaptive reuse of the historic Central Fire Station at 39 E. Adams St. Owners Farley and Paul Grainger plan to convert the almost 120-year-old, 9,600-square-foot building into a mixed-use development with restaurant and office uses. The DDRB application says the developer wants to complete core and shell exterior building repairs and code compliance upgrades, including a new roof, facade repairs, door and window replacement, ADA compliance, egress upgrades, utility connections and a new streetscape to meet city standards. The Graingers also want to replace the roll-up and personnel doors.
