Town of Oyster Bay approves Amazon warehouse proposal; civic leader pushes back

Amazon is one step closer to building a massive warehouse on the vacant Cerro Wire property in Syosset, but the plan isn t sitting well with some area residents.
Cerro Wire property owner Syosset Park Development is proposing a more than 200,000-square-foot building to be rented by Amazon for a warehouse.
North Syosset Civic Association leader Court Cousins says they strongly oppose the proposition on North Service Road. The physical traffic moving at all hours of the day and night, the exhaust that comes as a result of that. There are things on a smaller scale as far as quality of life, says Cousins.
