We have 40% of our county s without general pediatricians. we refuse to expand medicaid so, so many families don t having a says to healthcare. i believe our job is to educate children. i know parents have to balance education and that is a complicated issue. i think each governor has to evaluate what s happening where they are. we have to look to the cdc and recognize we are shifting from pandemic to endemic. some states will get there faster than oughts. my responsibility if i am lucky enough to be the next governor of georgia is to look at the science to follow the protocols and to set the right example. right now that example is that we wear masks whenever possible. but we recognize we xant be a hard line about this. because situation change and we have different moments where we have to make decisions, that in this instance, i would say as the governor of georgia, my job will be at that time to look at the science to look at the situation, and to make the best decision to protect
Of the efforts of the republicans in the state legislature. they rolled back what was in place in the 2008 election because of the success of the program. you think this is a hangover from measure two because the get out to vote measure was so strong and the legislature went to work to suppress the vote? no question. in fact one third of the votes cast in 2008 were in person early voting. two of the county s in ohio and the last three days of the election, nearly 20% of of all the votes that were cast were early votes. it is very clear that this has been a coordinated precise action by the republicans as if it was a joint military effort across the country to try to roll back voting rights whether in florida or michigan or pennsylvania. we have seen this act before. in ohio, let me add this one point. they tried to pass a bill that
Nights and weekends. county election boards are evenly split between democrats and republicans. the republicans are voting for expanded voting hours in the county s and voting against that in democratic counties. in the democratic counties weather republicans are objecting to expanded early voting, the secretary of state has personally intervened to break the tie to side with the objecting republicans and make sure that in fact democratic leaning counties will not have early voting on nights and weekends and the republican leaning counties will. here s what it means in real terms. democratic leaning county s like franklin and summit county is the homes of cleveland and columbus and akron where barack obama won 2-1 and 3-2 and 3-2. those will not have early voting on nights and weekends leading up to election day. republican leaning counties, places where john mccain won like warren and butler counties, they will have extended early
