Area public high schools scored well nationally and are highly-ranked in the state in a latest listings from the publication US News & World Report.
Mount Wachusett Community College in Gardner, along with three Central Massachusetts vocational schools and the nonprofit Massachusetts Manufacturing Extension Partnership in Auburn, received $1.57 million in funding for workforce development programs which partner with local businesses.
Attleboro High School was awarded a $250,000 grant to enhance its metal fabrication and engineering program.
The grant comes from the Skills Capital Grant program, according to a press release Wednesday.
âThis grant will enable Attleboro High School to meet demand for adult and evening school training for residents ⦠as well as upgrade equipment for high school students,â the release said. âThe new equipment will include virtual welding units, CNC plasma cutters, 3-D printers, vacuum forming machines and laser cutters.â
