ALBION â A village man has been charged with eight felonies and six misdemeanors after he admitted that he was mixing explosives in a garage and causing a fire that destroyed three houses Dec. 5.
Gary A. Tarr, 56, of 221 West State St., was charged Thursday with five counts of first-degree reckless endangerment, three counts of fourth-degree arson, all felonies, and three misdemeanor counts each of criminal mischief and reckless endangerment of property.
The arrests were announced at a news conference at Village Hall Friday morning.
Police Chief Roland Nenni said his officers were the first to arrive at the scene about 4:30 p.m. and found heavy fire at Tarrâs house, which endangered two other houses.
