Body found in river is missing Chicopee boy Aiden Blanchard, DA confirms

SPRINGFIELD The body of an 11-year-old Chicopee boy reported missing in February was recovered this week from the Connecticut River, officials said Friday.
Hampden County District Attorney Anthony Gulluni said Aiden Blanchard’s body was found around 11:15 a.m. Wednesday by members of the Chicopee Police Department Underwater Response Team. Blanchard was found in the Connecticut River between the North End Bridge and the Memorial Bridge in Springfield.
A medical examiner confirmed the boy’s identity.
Gulluni offered his sympathy to Blanchard’s family, a spokesman said in a statement.
