Academically-Focused Preschool Teaches Students the Importance of Giving Back CHICAGO, IL (April 21, 2021) It’s never too early to learn about the importance of doing good in your community, a lesson that local preschoolers are learning through hands-on experience. The Gardner School of Chicago–River North held a food drive throughout March, collecting canned goods donated by the school’s staff, students, and their families to benefit the Greater Chicago Food Depository. “It’s important to teach the children at a young age to give to those in need. Through the food drive, we were able to encourage conversations at school and home about how fortunate we are and how important it is to help other families in need,” said Erin Cohen, Executive School Director of The Gardner School of Chicago–River North.
