Firefighters were called Thursday to the scene of a rollover crash on the 55 Freeway in Costa Mesa that required members to use the jaws of life to pull a driver from her mangled SUV, officers reported.
Costa Mesa Fire & Rescue Capt. Joe Noceti said a call came in at around 11:20 a.m. reporting a single vehicle had overturned on the southbound side of the freeway, just north of the 73 Freeway overpass. Responders had to use the jaws of life to extricate the driver, a middle-aged woman, from the vehicle.
