Flying The Flag On Flag Day

Flying The Flag On Flag Day The American Flag was proudly displayed throughout the Hamilton area Monday, June 14, on Flag Day. The downtown area again had flags along the streets, including each block in the Central Business District on Main Street and also along US 93. For the second year, Will Hutchin and others walked from Hamilton to Corvallis with a large flag, using the paths along Fairgrounds Road, US 93 and the Corvallis Cut-off Road. It started at 9:11 a.m. and was completed in the afternoon. In Washington, D.C., Montana U.S. Senator Steve Daines chose Flag Day to re-introduce a Constitutional Amendment that would prohibit the physical desecration of the American flag. Daines was joined by Senators Marsha Blackburn of Tennessee, Mike Crapo of Idaho, Shelley Moore Capito of West Virginia and Kevin Cramer of North Dakota. Previously, Daines led the effort in the 115th and 116th Congress.
