Of the roads behind me. i ll step out of the way to give you an idea of just what these drivers are now finding themselves trying to get through which are roads that already have looks like maybe an inch of water that s accumulated. we ve been talking about the forecast today of expecting 2 to 3 inches of rain in the span of 48 hours. that is about the same amount of rain that this area typically sees in a year. so when you have all of it falling as quickly as it is today, that is where that flash-flood warning really comes into play and where that threat really is heightened. emergency responders are on high alert. and are likely going start to be fielding calls for help here as drivers may not realize just how deep that water is if they re trying to get around. really the messaging has been to not drive if you don t need to but as you re taking a look you re seeing people are still doing that. thankfully, some of the biggest problem areas have already been shutdown.
