- tequila is the national drink of mexico. and it was born right here in jalisco. as shocking as it is, women weren t allowed in these bars until the 1980s. that s so crazy that you could just sit here as a man and pee, and you didn t even have to get up. - also, when the women couldn t enter the cantinas, tequila was seen as a very cheap drink. you weren t very sophisticated if you were drinking tequila. all: salud! - cheers. - thankfully, times have changed.
