What started as a discussion in a Pinckney community Facebook group will become a reality this spring when Pinckney s community garden opens to the public.
The garden will open with 16 raised beds and two wheelchair accessible beds on a vacant lot in downtown Pinckney in May. Community members will be able to rent a garden bed to grow fruits and vegetables for themselves and others.
“A couple of people on the Pinckney community group page started talking about it,” said Village President Rebecca Foster. “We were reading about other communities that have gardens, and it turned into an informal group of a couple of community members that are interested.”
