the issupreme court over the years. congress is making the confirmation progress. a lot of it is the court. clearly, the court is becoming more and more ecmbroiled in political issues and signing on partisan basis. what you just heard from the conversations and the confirmation hearing that a couple of these justices had where they made it very clear that this was not going to be an issue. it made a difference in some of the senators votes, at least a couple of the republican senators. certainly this is a huge crisis of confidence in the court. make no mistake, it s based on the ruling. yes, the leak is a problem, should be investigated, looked at but the decision that is apparently coming doe ing down assault on the women of america and that is the biggest problem that the supreme court has right now. let me jump in because is do
think we should all be channels senator booker right now and i agree with you, joy, look, this is a day to celebrate because judge jackson will be justice jackson and that matters. it s huge. by the way, it matters because not only has she got the highest rating on qualifications, not only because she is the first black woman who actually went through a confirmation progress for the supreme court and will be the first person who actually understands what it means when the government violates people s constitutional rights in the criminal justice system. we need that kind of perspective on the court. we are going to get it with this justice for all. but absolutely. i m with you. because the reality is there is no question in any of the minds of any of these senators that this is a highly qualified
this undercover back door procedure rather than going through normal order. this could all be resolved quickly. the administration simply needs to nominate someone, have them vetted, and have them go through the confirmation progress and let people vote on the record whether or not they want to destroy the consumer bureau rather than have it done through this back door. why would that not work in your opinion, or is that the way to go? one of the problems with this agency is it s one of the strangest agencies ever created by federal legislation. it is not accountable to anyone. did you know that, for example, the congress does not even appropriate the money to cfpb and that is the case with most financial regulators. congress does have authority we can t hear both of you if you re both talking. the reason that s such a terrible system is that means the cfpb is not accountable to anyone. we re discovering now the cfpb
