8,000 structures burned, most of them homes, and 42 people died in the fires. Fire crews have been working nonstop to extinguish the flames. They hope to reach full containment by october 25th, wednesday. The estimated damage caused by the fires is in the billions of dollars. More and more people are being allowed back into their neighborhoods to assess the damage, and today a portion of the evacuations were lifted for several neighborhoods.
