That excites Jo Harvey Allen.
The online concert was organized by country singer Terry Allen and his actress wife, Jo Harvey as a benefit for New Mexico food banks. The couple resides in New Mexico. More than 50 performers are donating their time to the cause, which has picked up national attention. Recently, Rolling Stone wrote about the event and David Byrne mentioned it in his weekly newsletter to millions of fans. ....

Star-studded benefit concert to help New Mexicans facing hunger

In response to the devastation that the COVID-19 pandemic caused in New Mexico, dozens of the country’s top musicians, singers and songwriters united to help those who have lost their jobs and are facing severe food insecurity for themselves and their families.
One of the artists taking part in Food for Love a virtual concert on Feb. 13, from 5 to 10 p.m. is New Mexico’s own, Chevel Shepherd. She is best known for her winning NBC’s music competition TV show, “The Voice,” Season 15, under the tutelage of Kelly Clarkson. Ever since, Shepherd has been working on her music, even during the pandemic, which cut short her touring plans after opening shows for Clarkson, Little Big Town, Brothers Osborne and being invited by the 2019 Indianapolis 500 organizers to open the races with her powerful rendition of “God Bless ....

SANTA FE – The New Mexico Human Services Department was appropriated $5 million from House Bill 1, during the second special session of the New Mexico Legislature last month to support and supplement emergency feeding operations at food banks across the state. The funds are being distributed equitably this week to the five major food banks that support all 33 counties and tribal communities through an existing hunger relief network:
• Road Runner Food Bank in Albuquerque
• The Food Depot in Santa Fe ....
