Cerritos' Roots Café Receives $5,000 From Supervisor Hahn Program - Cerritos Community News

Roots Café in Cerritos has received $5,000 as part of a program launched by Los Angeles County Supervisor Janice Hahn to support restaurants and help families during the COVID-19 pandemic. The money was presented to the restaurant in exchange for gift cards, which will be distributed by Community Family Guidance Center in Cerritos to help local families in need.

LA County Supervisor sets aside $330,000 for restaurant funding, families in need Published  article LOS ANGELES - Los Angeles County Supervisor Janice Hahn announced on Monday that $330,000 will be distributed to 11 nonprofit organizations that will use the funds to buy gift cards from local small restaurants and hand them out to local families in need.   People are struggling, Hahn said in a statement. Through no fault of their own, people have lost jobs and wages, and small businesses have been shuttered. We designed this program to get food on families tables while at the same time supporting restaurants that are struggling right now.

Los Angeles County Supervisor Janice Hahn announced Monday that her office will distribute $330,000 to 11 nonprofit organizations that will use the funds to buy gift cards from local small restaurants and hand them out to local families in need. - ADVERTISEMENT - “People are struggling,” Hahn said in a statement. “Through no fault of their own, people have lost jobs and wages, and small businesses have been shuttered. We designed this program to get food on families’ tables while at the same time supporting restaurants that are struggling right now.” The money will be distributed to nonprofits in Hahn’s 4th Supervisorial District, which includes Long Beach and stretches along the coast from Marina del Rey to the South Bay, up through Lakewood and Whittier and as far east as Diamond Bar.
