[applause] my name is courtney lindell and im the Building Union represent and middle schoolteachers and was published in the fall in one of the most highly reviewed peer education music journals. Im ask you to reallocate the p funding to stop educational inequity. I teach at the number one middle school. We have six vapa teachers. You cant tell me kids on the other side of the city are getting the same education because they dont have the same access. Require each school to have one vapa teacher for every 200 students and unit peef to fund it. Before the massive art cuts in the 1980 es, every school had vapa teachers, arts, orchestra, and choir. The federal government recognized vapa as a core back in the 1990s. Parents top School Choices are always the school with the sequential arts and music programs. Every teacher in the school resigned cohort recommended making music and arts a core course but the district wont listen. And it makes sense that all the parents want kids
Collaborating a district and others. They partnered with advisories groups and the Family Engagement team of the Unified School District to host the Second Annual family alignment summit. This helps the cac build leadership skills and strengthens our alignment with other committees. Also in november, they partnered with the african Parent Advisory Committee to host a cafe. The cac has been able to increase outreach to parents of africanamerican students. On december 3, sfusd kicked off Inclusive Schools week. Support for families with children of disabilities helped us cap off the week by sponsoring a screening of the film, intelligent lives, by dan habib. The cac will participate in a resource conference for the support of families with children with disabilities. Well participate in a resource fair and host a Panel Discussion. This is a free event and all special Education Community members are invited to attend. On may 1st, the School District will join other cac members from across

I also understand that you have rules to follow, and you have to take as one person said a finite amount of money and support take a finite amount of money and support teachers and line items. From my understanding, most of our implementers of the program have taken the threeday could not thcourse,not the fullyear. Theres a lot more that we should be doing to fully implement. You can say that about every, Single Department within sfusd. But i really appreciate the concerted effort to do as much as we can with our resources. The piece that i would add, ive been in some discussions this week with curriculum and instruction and what i have appreciated going through this process, and watching this from the start, we did not have a dyslexia pilot and we were considering adding this curriculum in and how we were going to train all of our teachers to bring people up to speed is that even though we have this where 1700 teachers have to be reached and 75 schools and all the numbers you start to look at, there have been course corrections along the way. Its a great opportunity to meet facetoface with representatives and lend a voice. On may 4th, the cac will provide a workshop at the expo in oracle ballpark. Previously
