The Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education has frozen basic in-state tuition at its 14 state-run universities for the 2022-23 academic year. Basic in-state tuition will remain at $7,716 for a fourth consecutive year. PASSHE leaders, however, said that more funding from Harrisburg is necessary to keep schools from raising costs on students in the future.
St. Joseph's University and the University of the Sciences received approval from the Middle States Commission on Higher Education to move forward with plans to merge into one academic institution. The MSCHE's accreditation allows the absorption of USciences into St. Joe's to be finalized by June 1.
