Neutrality has become the law of the land. Hows that going . Guest well, its early. Our rules have just become final, so we have some implementation to do as well so its early to know exactly how the rules are going to play out and what are the impacts. We still have a court case going on, and well see how that moves through the process and see what happens in the litigation side of the equation. Host well, theres some talk up on capitol hill with the republican ares about doing republicans about doing something to mitigate Net Neutrality. Is that something thats possible at this point, or is it going to is it all in the courts . Guest well, i leave of the legislating process to my good friends and former colleagues on the hill. They know best on what can be done and cant be done on capitol hill. I have left that institution enjoyed my time there but im not in a great position to answer per se. I suspect in talking to my friends it seems like a heavy lift right now. Seems like those fo
[inaudible] when it comes to our approach which doesnt take into account to continue to almost take on the evidence of those roles to take both sides. Why is it that we cant get this right to this changing approach and lack of analysis doesnt inspire confidence. That is a gross misrepresentation of the situation. What happened is the situation on the ground has changed. When we were first looking at the situation in syria it was a civil war with opposition groups fighting a regime which was responding with ever more ruthless military means. What happened in the meantime is isis has become a fact on the ground controlling a significant area of territory more extreme. Theyve become a much more important sector in the conflict on the ground and that is hugely complicated the situation. It was a relatively blackandwhite thing in the beginning. [inaudible] [inaudible] the holding of the establishing of Something Like the government is usually going to complicated situation. For the record i
Say, in their language about the ruling. All too often lawmakers leap to conclusions that are not warranted by the facts. Simply put, the court ruling does not outlaw contraceptives, does not allow bosses to prevent women from seeking Birth Control, and does not take away a persons religious freedom. I ask consent to include in the record the factcheckers full remarks. The presiding officer without objection. Mr. Alexander today women have the same rights before obamacare. The Supreme Court decision did not at least in terms of religious freedom they do. The Supreme Court decision did nothing to change or alter a womans ability to access Birth Control or other contraceptive care. Hobby lobbys insurance today already covers 16 of 20 forms of contraception for the companys employees. A hobby lobby employee who wishes to use a device not covered by the companys insurance is in no way prohibited from purchasing it is in no way prohibited from tching. Nothing in the hobby lobby decision pre
That providers can communicate more openly and easily sharing information between them about patients. Thats especially important and helpful with Electronic Health platforms when the providers are on the same platform. This can reduce duplicate testing and even conflicting treatment. Payers and providers can share more Meaningful Health care data, Work Together on Health Care Analytics to determine what is the right improvement we can make to quality and cost . The providers within a clinically integrated network can be more familiar with each others, not just their medical practice protocols but their administrative practices. Allowing handoffs to be much smoother with less error. Then also these tighter relationships allow these providers to comment with the payers back to them where there are Service Needs and things that need to be improved. So ill go on to what we also want to talk about, though, and that is there needs to be adequate Consumer Protection and education. Especially
Coverage for example in one market where we are the narrower provider we found they had no access to pet scans. Another glitch we found as their exclusive Network Provider they had not contracted with any Lamp Services or radiation therapy. We can provide these services but frankly getting Outpatient Lab testing at your hospital may not be as convenient as some of the labs that are available with better parking and hours. Finally id like to reemphasize the reality of the marketplace is that price dominates. Premiums is what people are most likely to look at. Those with low income still leave outofpocket medical expenses that are unaffordable below this operation. As a result, even modest out pocket costs create affordability programs. This is from one of our markets. A married couple. Income 48,000 a year. They chose a bronze plan. Their premium is subsidized. They have a 3,600 deductible and a 12,000 potential outofpocket maximum. If one of this group needed a jant re placement or hth
