Minor girl raped at Okaphoto - Informanté

Minor girl raped at Okaphoto   A 16-year-old girl was allegedly raped by a 42-year-old man at Okaphoto renting rooms in the Onandjamba settlement last month.   Omusati Regional Commander, Commissioner Titus Shikongo said that the crime was committed on the 20th of February and that suspect was only arrested on Wednesday this week.   Shikongo explained that there are cases where investigations have to be carried out first to ascertain a crime has been committed rather than arresting straight away.     At the time of the incident, the suspect allegedly found the victim on her way home from the hospital where she was attending classes.

Human remains discovered - Informanté

Human remains discovered   THE Namibian Police in the Omusati Region is appealing to the communities in the areas surrounding the villages of Otoongo and Okeeholongo in the Okahao Constituency to assist in identifying human remains discovered in the bushes on Sunday.   Omusati Regional Commander, Commissioner Titus Shikongo said the discovery was made by Joseph Ashipala, a resident of Okeeholongo, who was walking through the forest in search of his cattle.   According to Shikongo, the farmer allegedly stumbled upon human bones and informed another community member from the Okeeholongo Village who then informed the Police on Wednesday about the discovery.     Shikongo stated that during a preliminary investigation, a human skull and bones were found scattered around under a mopane tree while a black plastic belt was also discovered tied to one of the branches. Some fatty stains were also observed on the tree trunk.
