BCSO Deputies pull burning vehicle away from home

Courtesy of BCSO COLUMBUS, Ind. – The Bartholomew County Sheriff’s Office responded to a vehicle fire on Brush Creek Drive in Sand Creek Township on Tuesday at 3 a.m. Deputies found a truck burning just a few feet from a house. When attempts to extinguish the fire with fire extinguishers were unsuccessful, officers used a truck with a tow strap to pull the burning vehicle away from the residence so flames would not spread to the home. The Columbus Township Fire and Rescue and the Elizabethtown Volunteer Fire Department arrived on the scene and quickly put out the blaze, saving most of the personal items inside the truck.
