State will more than double number of state parks open early for trout anglers

The Great White Fleet of Pennsylvania Fish and Boat stocking trucks will deliver more than 3.2 million trout to streams and lakes across Pennsylvania.

Campsites at an additional 16 state parks will be available for trout anglers on Friday, April 2, allowing them to stay overnight in advance of the new statewide trout fishing season opening day on Saturday, April 3, the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources announced today.
More than 2,300 campsites at 34 state parks will be available.
“We know how trout fishing and state park camping often go hand in hand and we are doing our best to facilitate these traditional recreational pursuits,” said Cindy Adams Dunn, secretary of DCNR.
