Authorities today suspended the train services from tomorrow (May 11) till May 16 to prevent the spread of COVID-19 cases in Valley. Chief Area Manager Railways, Saqib Yousuf said that train services will be suspended from tomorrow (May 11) till May 16 evening. He said as of now they have directions to suspend the train services for one week, which can be extended further as per the situation.

SRINAGAR: In Kashmir, of 348 beds designated as COVID ICU beds, around 165 beds have been already occupied. A top health official told a local news agency Kashmir News Observer that while 183 COVID ICU beds are still vacant in Kashmir division but the main four tertiary care hospitals in Srinagar have just three ICU beds vacant. “With each passing day, more and more ICU beds are being occupied and if the steep surge of the Covid-19 positive patients continues it seems very soon we will struggle to find a life-support bed for sick patients,” an official said. An official said four level three tertiary care hospitals of Srinagar which includes SKIMS Soura, SKIMS Medical College Hospital Bemina, SMHS Srinagar and Chest disease hospital have just three ICU beds available.
