Alton man faces burglary, auto theft charges

EDWARDSVILLE Burglary and auto theft charges were filed against a number of people in unrelated cases Monday by the Madison County State’s Attorney’s Office.
Scott R. Beers, 55, of Alton, was charged April 5 with residential burglary, a Class 1 felony, and burglary, a Class 2 felony.
The case was presented by the Madison County Sheriff’s Department.
According to court documents, on March 25 Beers allegedly entered a residence and detached garage in the 1000 block of W. Delmar Avenue, Godfrey, to commit theft.
Bail was set at $50,000.
