after hours. this comes as some of the biggest names in tech have been solid gainers since the brexit lows. take a look at the performance of facebook, google and apple since june 24. with stocks, of course, overall near record levels, is big tech where you now want to be? pete najarian. i think it s where you ve been wanting to be for a while but brexit opened up that door even wider because everybody started looking. we all know about the utilities, we all know about telecom. they had to go somewhere else with money because they saw valuations getting extremely stretched. where did everybody start to look, simon? they started looking towards tech. look at all these various names. even look at something like seagate. you look at yield, you look at valuation and suddenly people started saying, hey, look, not stretched, haven t made a move. but i would warn you right now, tech has been on an absolute tear run to the upside. this run off of the brex it lows to where we are ri
terranova, jim lebenthal, josh brown and pete najarian. how worried should people be this week for a sector that s made a nice comeback? not worried at all. the sector is rallying into this dnc and a big difference between word and deed. very easy to put things in a platform, harder to actually enact them. and history suggests that these things typically don t play out based on the worst case scenario. most important thing here, scott, technically speaking, look at xpi, equal weight biotech index. a much better measure of the broad sector than the ibb. that is on the verge of a breakout. $60 resistance and a pattern of higher lows. exactly what you want to see. sellers are less aggressive. buyers more aggressive, and once this thing gets going, typically set up for a nice run for a little time. i would not be worried about headlines this week. they re just headlines. they re not actual policies. pete, word alone, though, to sort of refute what josh is saying, has already

gloom party, that many had been predicting for apple, that s what i ve been reading today. what they did, everything, the fear was that apple absolutely was just going to have the worst quarter they could ever put up. still a bad quarter, but better than expected, and all of those fears were put to the side, because they actually executed better than people expected. i think some of the numbers most important to me is, where do they have growth? focusing on this a while now. 10 % of their revenues now have been in the service area. now that s starting to slide up a little bit more and a little bit more, scott. now it s closer to that 15%, 19% number. you ve got to like the direction they re going. the stickiness factor. i think a great article out today by piper and talking about, look, people love apple products, and by the way, 90% of them plan on continuing to be with apple. so i think all of the fears that everybody s either leaving apple or the slowdowns and everything
