The Rainsville City Council on Thursday presented a proclamation honoring Rev. Kevin McCreless of Broadway Baptist Church for 30 years of service to the community.

Cody Dowdy is charged with theft of property over $10,000.
Court documents say the project manager notified Jackson police about the theft on April 5. The manager told investigators about $12,900 in copper wire was taken from a storage room inside a building at the construction site, which was secured by a locked gate, court documents say.
Dowdy is currently in custody at the Madison County Sheriff’s Office.
